MAY 2009 We were planning to fly back West to visit Mom and attend my niece’s graduation from college.  Mom’s memory and health is not as good as it use to be (Mom had an allergic reaction to something which caused her mouth to dry out and become quite red), so we decided to take advantage of the memory loss.   Mom was delighted that all of her daughters and granddaughters were home for Mother’s Day and what better gift to give mom than……………….BLACK BOWLS!!    We wrapped up the BLACK BOWLS in real pretty wrapping paper and had a special Mother’s Day card attached to it.    We waited until my gift was the last gift to give her after receiving all the other wonderful gifts and she still had no clue.  The Mother’s Day card read “Remember how I use to embarrass you?”  and inside the care reads, “ I am almost through!”  Mom smiled and said,” Been there and done that!”  For the last 10 years, this comment has been Mom’s favorite line when we ask her if she remembers something.  When she finally peered thru all the tissue paper and saw the BLACK BOWLS, her face dropped and she said “No wonder you were so anxious for me to have this gift”!   We died laughing and made her pose with the BLACK BOWLS.  HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY MOM!!  Be sure to view the video. OCTOBER 2009 A package arrived at my doorstep and it was from my sister.  My sister was sending me some paperwork, but nothing that warrant a box big enough for BLACK BOWLS!   I had Rod capture the moment on video camera of me opening the box.  As I opened the box, sure enough, there were 4 BLACK BOWLS.  But I got a bag of my chocolate kisses (when it comes to chocolates, I DO NOT SHARE) and some glow sticks.  Stickers on the BLACK BOWLS say, “Happy Halloween, Spooky, Go Batty and Trick or Treat”.    Be sure to view the video with the kitties first exposure to the BLACK BOWLS.
